Adding trades

Denik makes it easy to record your trading activity through two primary methods: manual entry and importing trades from supported platforms. This section will walk you through both processes.

Adding trades manually

Adding trades manually gives you complete control over what information you record and is ideal for entering individual trades:

  1. Select Your Workspace:

    • Ensure you've selected the appropriate workspace from the dropdown in the top-left corner.

    • Each workspace maintains a separate collection of trades.

  2. Access the Add Trade Form: click on the "Add trade" option in the left sidebar under the Workspace section.

  3. Fill in Trade Details

  4. Save Your Trade

Importing trades via the file

Denik offers a straightforward way to import multiple trades at once using CSV files from supported trading platforms. The import process is designed to be simple and user-friendly.

  1. Select Your Workspace:

    • Ensure you've selected the appropriate workspace from the dropdown in the top-left corner.

    • Each workspace maintains a separate collection of trades.

  2. Navigate to Import Trades:

    • From the left sidebar menu, select "Import trades" under the Workspace section.

  3. Select Your Trading Platform:

  4. Prepare your file with trades:

    • Export your trading history from your selected platform as a CSV file.

    • Make sure the file contains all necessary trade data fields.

  5. Upload Your File:

    • Click the file selection button.

    • Browse your computer to locate and select your CSV trade data file.

    • The system will show the file name once selected.

  6. Import Your Data:

    • After selecting your file, click the "Import data" button.

    • The system will process your file and add the trades to your current workspace.

This import functionality allows you to quickly add multiple trades without having to enter each one manually, saving significant time for active traders. Each platform may have specific formatting requirements for the CSV file, so be sure to export your data following the recommended format for your chosen platform.
